Gustav Klimt

Gustav Klimt was an Austrian symbolist painter known for his decorative and erotic paintings. He was born in 1862 in Baumgarten, Austria, and studied at the Vienna School of Arts and Crafts. He is best known for his paintings such as The Kiss, Judith and the Head of Holofernes, and The Three Ages of Woman. Klimt's work was highly controversial in his time because of its sensual subject matter and decorative style. He is considered a pioneer of modernism in Austria.
