Vincenzo Camuccini

He is best known for his works such as The Death of Caesar, The Death of Virginia, and The Coronation of Napoleon. Camuccini's work is characterized by his use of classical forms and his attention to historical accuracy. He was highly regarded by the academic establishment and was appointed court painter by Pope Pius VII.
